COURSE OVERVIEW

House Manners is a 4-week series class to start building skills, manners, and help solve some regular dog behavior challenges. Not only will your dog be a joy to have around, but more fun, as well. We will work on attention, sit, down, wait, settle, polite leash walking, leave it, targeting and coming when called. We will play fun games to keep your dogs engaged!

This class teaches the foundations of obedience training, which makes it a great class for owners who are new to clicker training (or any training, for that matter!) and for dogs that are getting settled in a new home and could use a refresher on their manners (or who may not have had any training previously), and help them bond with their new family.

COURSE OVERVIEW

This is a 6 week class that introduces your dog to agility training and the equipment that is used to do so. Dogs of any age can participate in the class but should be energetic and active. We will introduce the jumps, weave poles, the tunnels, walking planks, and the a frame. It’s a step by step class that will teach your dog mental exercise, and it is something that you will enjoy doing.

COURSE OVERVIEW

Join us for this fast-paced combination of basic obedience, socialization, and confidence-building exercises.

We could all use a little help with our manners, right? This 6-week puppy class for dogs less than 6 months old covers the essentials of family life, house training, crate training, puppy biting, basic leash skills and simple obedience cues like sit, down, come, stay, no jumping and watch me. The classes are fun and help build your pup’s confidence while socializing it to different dogs and people. We incorporate games and lots of fun into these classes. Be proud of your well-mannered furry family member. This class is taught by an AKC approved Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator so puppies who attend all six classes are eligible for the AKC STAR Puppy Certificate. NO MAKE UP CLASSES will be offered — please plan to attend all six classes if you are interested in obtaining the certificate.

COURSE OVERVIEW

Whether you want to try your hand (paw!) at the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test or simply want to take your dogs’ skills to the next level, the CGC class might be just the thing you are looking for. The purpose of the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen Program is to ensure that our favorite companion, the dog, can be a respected member of the community because they are trained to act mannerly in the home, in public places and in the presence of other dogs. The relationship building and training that leads to achieving your dog’s CGC also provide an excellent foundation for enjoying other activities like therapy work, rally, obedience, and agility with your dog.

This class will coach you in teaching your dog the manners to pass the Canine Good Citizen Test. You will be encouraged to go on weekly outings outside of class to practice with and socialize your dog. The cost for the test is included in the class registration and will be held at the conclusion of the course. All dogs who successfully complete the CGC test can receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club and are automatically recorded in the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen Archive.

Trainer

Debbie Eaglebarger made Tallahassee her home in 2013. She comes from California with 20+ years of training experience. She ran an animal shelter for 12 years, and during that time, she became an AKC Evaluator, who has worked with dogs from all walks of life, with a variety of temperaments. She insists that any dog will listen to you if they understand what you want them to do, and that, just like a kid in school, what might work for one dog does not work for another. She will always search for an alternate method and will ensure that you and your dog will be able to communicate and grow together. Because of this approach, no two classes are ever alike, but each one of them is guaranteed to be a fun learning experience.

Debbie conducts the following classes: AKC Canine Good Citizen, AKC STAR Puppy, Basic Manners, Agility, Rally, Trick Training, and Reactive Dogs. She also does individual training when requested.

“I know dogs better than I know people,” she says. “My goal is to teach the human members of a household how to get their dog to do what they want in a way the dog understands.”
